The Shack Riverfront Restaurant & Tiki Bar sits on the scenic banks of the Indian River at 4845 Dixie Highway NE. A staple in the Palm Bay community since the 1950s, this resilient, welcoming, and character-filled restaurant is proudly owned by local woman and veteran Kathy Kittleson and her husband, Rob.

The Shack Riverfront is more than just a restaurant; it’s a vibrant gathering place known for its exceptional food and atmosphere. Guests are welcomed with complimentary valet service and friendly hospitality, setting the stage for a memorable experience.

The restaurant offers 299 seats in two distinct dining options. Inside, recent renovations have created a serene private dining room with a waterfall and an elevated menu. Outside, the lively Tiki Bar provides a casual, open-air setting with island-inspired decor and a new dock for boaters.

A Commitment to Community

Since acquiring the business in 2019, local owners Kathy and Rob Kittleson have embraced the values of family, friendship, and community. Inspired by neighborhood gatherings, they've transformed The Shack into a thriving local hub that now serves over 100,000 guests annually. Under their leadership, the restaurant has not only thrived financially but also employs over 65 people, strengthening Palm Bay’s local economy. Mayor Rob Medina noted, “Not only are they investing in our community, they are employing additional staff, employing more families, and allowing these families to prosper in our city.”

The Shack’s impact extends beyond its menu. As a dedicated community partner, it hosts family-friendly events like live music, karaoke, and bingo. The restaurant has also teamed up with organizations like the American Legion to support veterans, active-duty service members, and their families. From hosting cancer awareness fundraisers to honoring fallen heroes, The Shack serves with heart. The restaurant has also supported local schools and educators, donating thousands of dollars in gift cards.

A recent guest shared, “A great place to eat with a variety of menu options, especially the fresh seafood. The ambiance is beautiful, the service is friendly, and I can’t wait to come back.”

In recognition of its contributions to Palm Bay’s economy, culture, and community spirit, The Shack Riverfront Restaurant & Tiki Bar received an official City Proclamation at the July 17th Regular City Council Meeting.
